Spring has arrived, and open war with it. Mostly healed from his wound, Alexander departs the Dragon Isle only to be set upon by enemies from all sides. Outnumbered, desperate and running for his life, he’s shipwrecked in enemy territory then sold into slavery in the fabled city of Mithel Dour.
Ancient and mysterious, it’s said that the city was discovered rather than built. Within, Alexander finds a secret so old and so powerful that it could turn the tide of war … and possibly doom Isabel to the netherworld in the process.
Linkershim is the sixth book in The Sovereign of the Seven Isles, an epic fantasy adventure series.

I have read every book in this series and will most likely read the rest. The heroes are heroic enough that you cheer for them. But the bad guys are so bad it makes for hard reading. Good always triumphs so far, but the cost to Alexander continues to take it's toll. It reminds me so much of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth books. Good people with good magic are continually trapped, injured, bested sometimes by the simplest things. Richard and Kahlan hardly have a moments peace before another truly evil being is trying to end their lives. Same with Alexander and Isabel. For me, evil and cruelty for its own sake is hard to read. The madness of Phane Reishi is just chilling. You cannot reason with a madman and yet Isabel keeps trying to do just that. And is appalled when he doesn't respond. And it is so long between books that I forget who is who and what their contribution to the story is.
The Linkershim were truly wondrous and all the magical beings that Alexander is setting free should make the Seven Isles a place of breathtaking beauty once this is all over with. Mr. Wells?? When all the evil is done and the Seven Isles are restored to its original magical brilliance, can we have a book about that? The Wizard's Keep restored? All the good things that will happen because of Alexander's stand for the Old Law?

Linkershim Sovereign of the Seven Isles Book 6 edition by David A Wells Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I liked it, I've liked all of them, I feel like he's developing as a writer. That said I'm not sure where exactly he's headed with this story, I think i'm enjoying that part a bit, although i'm not sure that it's really intentional on his part. Sometimes I feel like the story meanders is all I mean, but i'm hoping all that meandering comes together and leaves me going "Ohh! ha!" Or something along those lines at least. That said it's a good read and if you read the last five don't hesitate go ahead and pick it up. It won't blow your mind, but you know what you're getting.
... and it's not a major one. The pacing can be a little rushed at times. Nothing too bad by any measure, but it can be a little jarring on occasion. Otherwise, I loved it. I have read the whole series and I greatly enjoyed it.
The main character has abilities that are rather dissimilar to those I usually see in fantasy books. In his areas of expertise he's almost overpowered, but outside of them he's more or less helpless. The author does a great job of showing him leveraging his strengths while keeping things believable. Definitely worth a read.
This is an exciting series. I am enjoying reading these books. This book continues with Alexander being held as a slave and Isabel still being held by Phane. Keep reading this series to find out if they get free in order to save the seven kingdoms.
David Wells is creating a masterpiece to rival the great fantasy epics. The duo of Alexander and Isabel are on par with Richard and Kahlen from the Sword of Truth series by Goodkind, the multi-layered plot is every bit as full as Jordan's Wheel of Time and the struggle of Rand Al Thor, and the character development is on par with Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. Just one man's opinion, but as with those other series, these books just keep getting better and better. Compelling storyline, evolving characters and an epic struggle between good and evil. What more could a reader want?
I haven’t enjoyed a book series so much since I read Lord of the Rings. The books that are full of action, never a dull moment, just keep getting better. It’s great the way the characters develop. While they’ve staved mostly with the good guy all good and the bad really bad it’s done without making the good guys revoltingly self Righteous.
I thank you for taking us on this journey of imagination! The character Alexander (Ruatha) Reishi is the character with character. And in building each character, Abigail, Anatoly, Magda, Duncan, Hanlon, Auela, and Isabel, plus the many others allows this world such an descriptive escape of immersion into this world. The struggles of Good battling evil is a constant in the world but your descriptions allow the basic principles of life to be most important. Bravo!
I am dying to read your next installment! Though while waiting, I have re-read the six books 3 times over...! Please hurry and publish the next book!!
A truly epic story, well thought out and presented. I have read all 7 books in the series (as of this posting), and have re-read them at least twice. I have gone from owning them on to starting to purchase the paperback versions.
I have read the reviews that mention the book needing an editor, but I can only assume that an editor was indeed found. I find this book to be well written, and few/no spelling or very obviously bad sentences. The book isn't written for English teachers, but is, in my opinion, written well for its target audience, that of mainstream adults who have patience with a 7-book series, and believe in the basic ideas of the 'Old Law', and Good/Evil.
I have read every book in this series and will most likely read the rest. The heroes are heroic enough that you cheer for them. But the bad guys are so bad it makes for hard reading.
